Multi-award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is returning to play in the Alfred Dunhill

Multi-award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is returning to play in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week alongside her husband Michael Douglas.

Both have appeared in the Championship at St Andrews before, but this is the first time they have played in the event at the same time.

“I’m delighted to be playing again, and it will be even more enjoyable with Michael alongside me. No doubt there will be a touch of friendly competition between us in the Team Championship.

“When I partnered with Victor Perez, the 2019 champion, I loved the experience. The atmosphere was incredible, and the galleries gave us such great support. We didn’t make the cut—which I know is every amateur’s goal—so that will be one of my targets this time. I’m already excited to see which professional I’ll be paired with.”

Born in Wales, Zeta-Jones began her career on the stage, in London, and was cast in the popular series The Darling Buds of May. She gained international recognition in The Mask of Zorro, opposite Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins, and Entrapment, alongside screen legend Sir Sean Connery.

She won an Academy Award, Critics’ Choice Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the hit film Chicago. She also won a Tony Award, for Best Actress in a Musical, for her critically acclaimed performance, in Stephen Sondheim’s, A Little Night Music. Most recently she starred in two seasons of the Netflix fan favourite series Wednesday as the iconic Morticia Addams.

She recently concluded production on Amazon’s Kill Jackie where she stars as Jackie Price, a wealthy art dealer with a secret past; and the upcoming Indie film The Gallerist, directed by Cathy Yan, and also starring Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega and Sterling K Brown. In 2010 she was awarded a CBE in the late Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her services to film and charity.
