Sir Steve Redgrave

One of the greatest Olympians, winning rowing gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games, beginning with the coxed fours in 1984 in Los Angeles and finishing with the coxless fours in Sydney in 2000.

He is now high performance director for the China rowing team.

Steve is a member of the Laureus World Sports Academy.

He is also a trustee of Comic Relief and supports his own Steve Redgrave Fund.

Since being diagnosed with diabetes in 1997, he has become an inspiration to other sufferers and is a Vice-President of Diabetes UK.

He plays most of his golf at Harleyford near Marlow. Has played in all 20 Alfred Dunhill Links.

Says his best golfing moment was playing for a Celebrity European team in a Ryder Cup format event at Celtic Manor and holing a 30ft putt on the 18th to win a point for Europe.
