England’s Eddie Pepperell defied the wind and rain on day two of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship to ace the 168-yard par-three eighth hole at Kingsbarns.
The dramatic hole-in-one happened on 32-year-old Pepperell’s fifth hole during his second round – following an 8.30am shotgun start on all three courses – and the two-time winner on the DP World Tour has been enjoying resurgent form in recent weeks with four top-20 finishes in his last five events, including tieing for eighth place at the Czech Masters in late August.
