Jimmy Anderson

The England and Lancashire cricketer holds the world record for the most Test wickets taken by a fast bowler with 690 (to date).

He has also taken 269 wickets in One Day Internationals.

Now 41, he additionally holds the record for making the most Test appearances for England, currently 183, behind only India’s Sachin Tendulkar.

His favourite golf course is West Lancashire.

This is his first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, though he has twice birdied the 18th hole on the Old Course.

He says: ‘Being able to play great courses so steeped in history is like playing at Lord’s. A real privilege.’
