Farewell to a golfing giant

We mourn the loss of our friend Sir Michael Bonallack, who has died at the age of 88. Sir Michael was one of the greatest amateur golfers of all time and admired globally for the authority, dignity and humour which he brought to his role as Secretary of the R&A. The game of golf benefited hugely from his sage wisdom and understanding. He was also a friend of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He served on the Championship Committee for many years and as a trustee of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation. He also played in the Team Championship eight times. All of us at the Alfred Dunhill Links will miss Sir Michael enormously. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
