Actor plays down his chances as he barely gets the chance to play a round these days, but he has belief that his pro partner can land the Championship title.
Jamie Dornan has picked out his professional partner, Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, as a potential winner of this year’s Alfred Dunhill Links, but he is not so confident about his own chances in the team event.
“You won’t see me on a leaderboard,” quipped the Fifty Shades of Grey actor after a spot of practice at Kingsbarns.
“Tyrrell is a brilliant player. I might well be having a little flutter on him because I do think he can win the individual title.
“As for me, I literally play about six rounds in a year, and four of them are at this tournament!”
Northern Irishman Jamie did take some encouragement from his own warm-up.
“It actually wasn’t too ugly out there in practice but I really don’t play enough,” he added.
“This is my third appearance in this event and, last year, the highlight was undoubtedly eagling the 18th Hole at the Old Course on the first day. In many ways, there’s no point in playing anymore because I don’t think you can better that in golf!”
